Spaces and hyphens in a typed Base32 key are ignored. Your input stays in this tab.

Advanced settings

These settings must match your service.

Authenticator URIs set their own parameters. Manual key settings apply only to a typed key.

Your code will appear here

Add a setup key, scan a QR code, or try the example.

♢ No sign-up required. Keys and codes stay in this tab. How your data is handled
A setup key comes from the service you are securing. This tool cannot receive SMS codes or recover a missing setup key.
GETTING STARTED

From setup key to sign-in

  1. Open your service's security settings and choose an authenticator app. Keep its recovery codes somewhere safe.
  2. Scan the QR or enter its setup key. Check the issuer and account before using a code.
  3. Enter the generated code back on the service to finish setup. A code generated here does not enable 2FA there.

When a code does not work

Check your device's automatic date and time, the account, key and TOTP settings. Ask the service for a new key if it rotated the old one.

SECURITY BOUNDARIES

Your key stays on this device

Quick Code keeps the setup key in this browser tab's memory and clears it when you clear the form, leave the page or are idle for five minutes. The server does not receive the key or code. Browser and operating system memory may retain remnants.

Copying exposes the current code to your operating system clipboard. This app does not clear the clipboard automatically. TOTP can still be phished; use stronger sign-in methods offered by your service for sensitive accounts.

The local vault and exported backup encrypt entries with your password. They are not synced, and a lost password cannot be recovered. Downloading a file does not prove it was saved safely; test the file after downloading it. Scripts on the same 123note.net origin can access an unlocked vault. Lock it when you finish using it.

Add from a QR code

Confirm the service name

The QR label and issuer setting differ. Choose the name you recognize from your service.

Add account

Changing a key or its settings changes future codes. Review the service's setup first.

Vault settings

Browser storage

Ask this browser to retain local vault data when possible. This is not a guarantee; keep an encrypted backup.

Change vault password

Previously downloaded backups will still use their old password.

Delete this browser's vault

Export and test an encrypted backup first if you may need these accounts later.

Export encrypted backup

Enter your current vault password. The JSON file stays encrypted and is prepared in this browser. Browser download does not prove the file was kept safely; test it afterward.

Inspect encrypted backup

Choose a 123note encrypted backup (up to 5 MiB). Nothing in the current vault changes until you confirm Restore.

Delete local vault

This permanently removes the encrypted vault from this browser profile. It does not disable 2FA at any service or delete backup files outside the browser.
